78% of Nurse Practitioners want to start their own businesses. 🔥
Almost none of them ever did, because the system made it nearly impossible.

That is the problem Corner Health was built to solve.

Co-founders Lava Sunder and Anne Gifford spent years talking to NPs. What they found was consistent: NPs are wildly entrepreneurial, deeply capable, and completely constrained by the administrative weight of running a practice. Billing. Insurance. Scheduling. Lab orders. Referrals. Patient communication. Without a team behind them, none of it was manageable alone.

Corner Health eliminates that constraint.

The company is not a consumer brand. It is an operating layer, one that lets NPs function as solo practitioners without hiring a single support staff member. Corner’s AI tool handles the full administrative stack, so the clinician can focus entirely on the patient.

💡 Here is what that looks like in practice:
– 70 NPs are already running their own businesses on the platform
– The service is live in Arizona and Washington state
– Some of those NPs have already doubled their salaries compared to hospital system roles
– Corner is on track to have more locations than Amazon’s One Medical by the end of the year

In 27 states, Nurse Practitioners can already operate with full practice authority. That means they can run their own clinics, outside hospital systems, legally and independently. The regulatory window is open. The technology just had to catch up.

According to Fortune, the company just closed a $25 million Series A led by Oak HC/FT. With $7.5 million in prior seed and pre-seed funding, total capital raised now stands at $32.5 million. Oak HC/FT founding partner Annie Lamont has been watching the regulatory shift for NPs for more than a decade. Her framing is direct: “It was a job and it wasn’t a career. And I think people are looking more for careers.”

77% of NPs are women. That is not a footnote. It is the center of this story.

This is a workforce that has been systematically underutilized. They have the clinical skills. They have the entrepreneurial drive. What they have historically lacked is the infrastructure. Corner Health is building that infrastructure.

Primary care in this country is fractured. Patients wait weeks for appointments. Clinicians burn out inside systems that treat them as interchangeable. Corner’s model flips that by giving the clinician ownership, financially and operationally.

I think this is what healthcare workforce transformation actually looks like. Not a staffing app. Not a scheduling tool. A genuine rearchitecting of who gets to build and own a practice.

Watch this one closely.
